The Housing Association had secured planning permission to redevelop a disused industrial complex to provide 50 flats in the centre of Biggleswade. This needed formal notification and agreement with adjoining owners under the Party Wall Act. The new foundations were to be close to the boundaries, and to old and fragile buildings.
We were asked to identify all adjoining owners and to serve the correct notices under the Act. We then made a complete round of inspections and negotiated agreements with the neighbours’ surveyors to cover demolition works and subsequent excavation and construction operations.
Croyland Building Surveyors have the benefit of extensive experience in all types of building. We have dealt with building works in constrained locations. We recognise the difficulties that this presents and can anticipate situations that may lead to conflict or delay.
